“3 years ago, this absolute psychopath who calls herself a realtor literally took away the opportunity for me to buy my first home.”
I met her through my former mortgage consultant after having several bad experiences with local realtors in the NOVA area. Upon meeting her she presented as a nice, and pleasant person and offered to provide me with options to purchase a home that would make my home buying experience pleasant and easy as a first home buyer. To this extent, she presented an opportunity for me to purchase a home that was being fully renovated in the NOVA area and was not actively listed on the market (e.g. MLS) for sale and the townhome was less than 15 minutes away. Upon acceptance, I even had the opportunity to walk through the home before it was completely finished and picked out where certain things would go. However, once the home was almost finished and we were nearing the closing process things started to take a turn for the worse as she started portraying behaviors and characteristics which presented poorly on her behalf and the company that she worked for at the time (Samson Realty). Once we got close to the closing process and were taking steps to do things like complete the final home inspection, discuss closing costs etc., she started to forcefully insist on constantly asking and inquiring about financing information which was legally outside of her license, even going to the extreme to call the bank at one point when I wouldn’t give her information that she requested. It got so bad to the point, my mortgage consultant had to get involved and remind her that realtors are not financial advisors so requesting financial information that she wasn’t privileged to was essentially illegal. Once we reached the closing process, the amount of taxes continuously changed which impacted the amount of money that I needed to pay so like anyone else, I asked if the seller would be willing to negotiate a lower selling price. To my surprise, this caused Renee to completely spiral out of control and she argued with me over the phone for 45 minutes straight stating that “she couldn’t work with people she couldn’t trust” and then proceeded to bring up her illness to justify her egregious, and heinous behavior. She even went to the extreme to tell me “she didn’t think that I needed to purchase a home” further stating that “she would have to check with the owner to see if they would be willing to lower the selling price”. Of course, she lied and stated that the seller wasn’t willing to lower the price which was confirmed when the house was put on the market, and was listed at $5k less than the original asking price which was done intentionally to cause a bidding war, ultimately resulting in the house being sold for $37k more than the original selling price. This was completely devastating to watch unfold all because Renee as a realtor and professional was operating unprofessionally and blatantly took away the opportunity for me to purchase my home which would have given me a peace of mind as a first time home buyer, who would not have had to repair or replace anything for at least the first 5-10 years. Our business relationship ended at the end of April 2023 and in June 2023, I purchased my first home which had an asinine amount of issues untimely resulting in them having to be repaired immediately. Needless to say, purchasing my first home was a depressive experience and I now feel as though all realtors are scammers who will do anything to make a sale. Not only did Renee operate out of spite, and hate, she caused me to have to start the process completely all over again resulting in me having to work with someone else in a different state who ultimately did scam me into buying a home which wasn’t fit to be purchased altogether. It is completely disgusting that Renee is still a realtor and is still legally allowed to sell anything anywhere in the United States based on her past behavior. Even though I have forgiven her, I wouldn’t recommend anyone work with her when buying a home.

“Ms.Renee made the process of buying & also selling our home very easy.Through the entire process she held our hand and guided us in the right direction that was best for us.”
She also reached out to remodel, repair the home we were selling and the outcome was Amazing. She is very knowledgeable and definitely went above and beyond, she is more like family now not just a realtor. I highly recommend Ms Renee Garland to anyone looking to buy or sell. She made the process easy and not stressful.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mrs.De’Atra Christopher

Renee Garland was my Realtor when I was looking for a house to buy. Renee was always available to answer any questions or concerns. Renee reviewed all of my paper work to make sure that whatever I was asked to sign was free and clear of any that was not in my best interest. Renee was by my side through every step of the buying process. Renee is extremely knowledgeable in all areas of the buying process as well as selling homes. “Renee helped me get my DREAM first home!”
It was a long/difficult experience. I was very confused on the process and constantly asking for her availability and plenty of questions. She never failed to make time for me, meet at a house to view, or schedule a call so we could go over anything. She really made buying a home a pleasurable experience and i have and will continue to recommend others to have her as their realtor!
